Getting around
San Francisco.
Quick Facts
-
San Francisco is very walkable, if you don't mind the occasional hills
-
-
For perspective a 30min walk can land you in three neighborhoods
-
-
We really don't think you'll need a car
-
Rental rates, parking and CA gas is just expensive.
-
We only recommend renting a car if you plan on traveling outside of San Francisco (Point Reyes, Sonoma, Yosemite etc.)
-
-
If you need to get across the city we recommend Uber/Lyft/Waymo. They can run $10-$30 depending on surge pricing. If you're requesting a ride from an event (concert, SF giants game, etc- you will pay more)

-
We recommend uber/lyft/waymo to and from our events

What's Waymo?
-
Driverless car service born in Silicon Valley. Yes, its an AI driving the car. Show me.
-
-
How does public transit work in San Francisco?
-
"This is The United States of America, its my god given right to drive a car where I please."
-
You can rent a car if you really want to but we think it will be more of a hassle than a convenience. If you plan on staying for a short amount of time and only being in the city we really don't think you'll need a car. If you plan on traveling north bay, east bay, south bay- then we would say renting a car makes sense.
